Ipod alternative
Hey guys I wanna get a decent mp3 player with a moderate amount of space. Currently i have $120 to spare. I would like something in the 2-5gig range (used for some music and podcasts). Are there any cheaper alternatives to the ipods, or would i just be best saving my money and buying an ipod? Also an Fm transmitter would be cool.
thanks for the advice

Well, if you're sold on the 2-5 gig range, you could get a Zen Micro for about $130 at this point...just make sure you get a newer model, as they made some upgrades to the headphone jack hardware.
Of course, if you're willing to wait on a rebate, you could get the 30 gig Creative Zen Xtra for $130 after rebate.

I have a Creative mp3 player that is absolutely awesome...but it isn't either of those. I'm actually considering ordering the 30gb player.
The Zen Micro got an Editor's Choice award from Cnet. The Zen Xtra is too big to be pocket-sized, if that's what you were going for, but I'm considering it because I want something to hold my entire music library so that I never have to listen to radio again. ![]() |
