I forgot all about the Soul Train dance line. You know, it was frequently thought of as a Black show, but I always watched it because I was a huge fan of motown and philly soul. Still am. I don't think it can be overstated how important a show it was, in terms of music, and in terms of just showing black people being people, grooving to the music. It was then, as a child, where I thought, pfft, we ain't all that different.
And yeah, I can say it, as a small italian child, I thought afros were cool. Hey it was the 70's, we thought a lot of things were cool.
Still not a lot going on. Other then the warm weather activating the leaking roof. This year we are taking care of it, darnit. It keeps getting put off because of the thousands I've been spending on trees. I mean that quite literally, I think I've spent about 8 grand on trees in the last 2-3 years. But it has to be done.
