Pic of The Day: Torrey Pines Gliders

Above the cliff in this shot is the Torrey Pines Golf Course which hosts the Buick Invitational in the spring and will host the US Open next June- same weekend the Del Mar Fair opens. Here a couple of gliders enjoy floating along on the afternoon breezes. This weekend (weather permitting) I am going to try to catch the air races down on San Diego Bay. Friday and Saturday (Sunday only if one of the other days is rained out) small planes will race on a course set up between Seaport Villiage and Coronado between sixty foot tall pylons- about ten to twento feet above the ground. Should be pretty cool. I can only make it on Friday so I hope the weather holds up. They say it might rain.

Really nice, zippy. This photo makes it appear as though you are up there gliding along with them.

Thanks all. I was out pretty close to the edge of the cliff at a point that sticks out a bit so I can see pretty good in both directions. It is quite high up here. People below look like ants.

Here is one passing below me:

I believe I can Fly.... you can see some people in the background on this one. Some have clothes on.

Zippy. Do you take all of the "pics of the day"? i love them all so much. they are really inspiring. Makes me want to finally go out and buy a camera and start shooting again.
