Smile Your New Year Resolution

I'm still trying to figure out what mine will be
How about y'all? Anyone have plans for their New Year resolution?

I don't make new years resolution. There isn't any point when you've already reached perfection.

Actually, I see life as a continual opportunities for self-improvement until I'm the best me I can be in the grave.

I'm going to try what my friend did last year (and it appeared to work for her). She did monthly resolutions instead of yearly resolutions. Her theory was that there is less pressure when it was a month but also it's the whole "ok, there's only a week left...I can finish this month" is easier than "there's 11 months left....I'm not going to finish the year anyway." She also said that she found that after doing something for a month, it became habit for her and eventually it was something she carried through past the month.

So for January, my resolution is 1) find a new job (ok, I need to do this anyway, so it's a necessity more than a resolution), 2) create at least 3 more brownie recipes (this is also likely going to happen as I'm working on the shop), and 3) take a vitamin supplement every day (something I should be doing and am hoping that after a month becomes habit for me).

Eh, you never know with #2. Seems like everything gives you cancer, or is sold as a cure for it. Or both.

No NY resolution(s) for me since I would never accomplish it/them.

I don't typically buy into the whole New Year's resolution song and dance, but I'm resolving to wear my seatbelt this year. I started a few weeks ago and am already starting to get into the habit.

11thReader Just as long as I'm still a taste-tester!!! And I'm sad that we didn't get to meet

Houdini - good for you!

VTGreg - good for you, too!

My resolutions? To lose weight and stick to a training program to walk the 3-Day in November...to be a better Mom...to declutter my house...

And I'll be happy with 2 out of 3

Yep...that would be the vice. Started only about 2.5 years or so ago. Rough times and hanging around a nightclub and friends where it was very popular (the sign over the entrance to the theater area had two arrows: "Smoking" and "Heavy Smoking.")

But no excuses. It's stupid, a waste of money, stinks, etc.

I'm going to try to be more social: get out and meet some people, be less reclusive, etc.

I smoked when I worked too. When I got pregnant with Patrick, I stopped. And when after he was born, I tried to light up another. It tasted like the bottom of an ashtray.

Since then, I haven't lit up once. My aunt died of lung cancer and an uncle lost half a lung.

Please stop. You know what it can do - the mental hangups and the physical.

As for the OP, I don't do resolutions. I do try to break bad habits (GA being one I haven't broken yet) or at least start new good habits.

OH! BTW If anyone needs a last minute tax write off, check out the link in my sig

LOL

Anyway, Happy new years!

I am up visiting my inlaws and I can occasionally get online. So, again, incase I don't talk again until I get home, Happy New years!!! ( and don't split a bottle of wine with your MIL when she doesn't like the wine. It's taken forever to correct the spelling in this post)

I keep trying to make this a New Year's Resolution, but I keep failing..... I really want to get out more to take photos. It's something I do enjoy doing, I just simply don't get out enough.

It's hard when I don't drive or anything, but really there's so many places I can get to via public transit and such - I can't really use this as an excuse.
