"Tom McLeod slept here" Who's Tom McLeod?

Here's something random. Anyone driving up or down the I-5 between San Fran and LA may have seen this sign that says "Tom McLeod slept here." Anyone know which Tom McLeod that sign is referring to? Can't find any definite answers.

Well this one seems to have Google stumped too. Only a couple of hits, and one points to this thread.

hahaha! yeah, I clicked on it to before I knew what site it was to see what they were referring to. Luckily it was safe, or at least nothing bad at a quick glance. Just mentioned they saw the sign too. I'm going to take a picture of that sign the next time I pass it to post. Someone's gotta know who it is.
