Question about AT&T U-verse

U-verse just became available in my area. So I am interested in getting the service. I remember the discussion here awhile back, does anyone have any feedback on U-verse. All I know is that I can finally get the NFL Network. But how is the TV service, internet, and phone? I have a bundle with TW and I have been looking for an excuse to drop them. The only thing that has kept me with TW is Roadrunner and this damn tree out here.

U-Verse is great here. No complaints.

I don't know about the phone service as I still have standard AT&T for that.

As far as TV and internet, UVerse is the bomb. I've had no major complaints since I switched to it from Comcast.

I have the U300 package which gives me a good percentage of the movie channels (no HBOs or Cinemaxes though). Plus I spend a good amount of time watching the free "On Demand" movies that are playing during the month through the subscribed movie channels. For the most part, that makes me feel that I'm not tied to my TV when I want to watch certain movies. I'll watch them through the "On Demand" at my leisure.

Finally, the BEST part of Uverse is the "Whole Home DVR". Not only can you record up to 4 shows at one time (if they are in standard definition... as high def takes up double the data streams) but you can watch them from any receiver box in your network. This one feature alone solved many disagreements in my household as everyone wants to watch different recorded programs at the same time.

All I can say is... if you got Uverse available in your area, get on it. Pretty much it's one of the best deals smokin' right now for home entertainment.

I've heard good things about U-Verse. But I've heard better things about Verizon's FiOS. If Verizon's FiOS is available, i'd go with them. The throughput rates for internet are amazing.

Thanks, DF. I'm thinking the U300 package as well. I can get TV and internet with Max 10 Mbps for $134 a month. Add phone for about $30 more and I pay just about the same as TW but I will have 31 movie channels. Can't beat that. Goodbye, TimeWarner.

Leebo, FiOS isn't available in my area. Thanks anyway.

I have had UVerse for about 5 months now. It is great. The only drawback is the limit of 2 HD channels pulled down at the same time. Other than that, I am so happy to be rid of TWC.

Imagine that when I first got Uverse, you could only pull one HD channel at a time.

I have 4 boxes in my house, and only 3 of my TVs are capable of HD currently, so it's not that big a problem for me.
