U.S. natural-gas reserves jump- -enough for 90 years
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-...ew-study-shows
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. proved natural-gas reserves have jumped 35% in the past two years to a level that could support the country's consumption for nearly 90 years, according to a new study released Thursday by an industry group. Total gas reserves stood at 2,074 trillion cubic feet as of 2008, up from 2006's 1,532 trillion cubic feet, according to Colorado-based Potential Gas Committee. At current consumption levels of 23.2 trillion cubic feet a year, the reserves can support 89 years of consumption. Most of the increase came from a reevaluation of shale gas reserves in the Appalachian basin and in the mid-continent, Gulf Coast, and Rocky Mountain areas, the PGC said. Not all underground reserves can be produced profitably |

![]() There is enough solar energy to support the country's consumption forever. Not all solar energy can be captured and produced profitably.

in other news today, scientist made a mistake of what kind of gas the reserves were...the natural gas turned out to be 89 years worth of helium, on a lighter note, everybody in Colorado is speaking with a higher tone.
