I'm looking for covers of 80s songs

Y2J pointed me to Fear Factory's cover of Cars. Anyone else know of any?

Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal
KMFDM - Like a Virgin
Type O Negative - Kill all the white people

That's all I can think of right now..

Then there are like massive amounts of techno/rave/ wtfever songs that are based off old songs, and video game n stuff

I know that Goldfinger did a cover of 99 Red Balloons, I don't know if that is the version in the game though.

Smash Mouth redid "do it again" (Steely Dan) Not sure if that was an 80's song though.

Look out for powerman 5000's cover of frankie goes to hollywood's "relax"

it should be on some soundtrack coming up and proably will be a very similar sound to the cars song

just saw the video for Powerman 5000's remake of "Relax" (by Frankie Goes to Hollywood). Its from the Zoolander soundtrack. The song leaves alot to be desired...

Also another good song is Buckcherry's version of "Anything, Anything" (by Drama-rama) from the Road Trip soundtrack

Wheatus did a cover of Erasure's 'A little respect'
Sarah Mclachlin (I love her!) did a cover of XTC's Dear God.

Two groups that were basically cover artists (they may have had only a few original tunes) are:

- Me First & the Gimmie Gimmies (What a name)
- M-Appeal.

M-Appeal does have an album, and it has covers such as:

- Someday (Glass Tiger)
- Makin' Love (Out of Nothing At All) (Air Supply)
- When I'm With You (Foreigner)
- Walking on Sunshine (Katrina and the Waves)
- What About Love (Heart)
- Everytime You Go Away (I feel so bad not knowing this one)
- Higher Love (Steve Winwood)
