It appears he made the common observation that BesyBuy clerks are retarded, and that guy just proved his point quite well. I've seen that stated on many sites around the internet...

Probably there are a few decent ones that manage to sneak in (as there are at CompUSA, I imagine), but many, many don't seem to have a clue.

I remember the time when I pointed out the the Best Buy cashier that he had forgotten to return previous customer's credit card. So what does he do? He slaps my credit card down on the demagnitizing table and dashes off to try to catch the other customer. When he gets back, he wonders why my cc won't be magnetically read. I had to explain it to him.

I am pretty sure that e-mail was illegal. You are not allowed to threaten people with bodily harm. I remember a guy getting arrested for writing OJ on his wife's alimony check during the trial. I could not imagine somebody being so damn stupid that they would write something like this, especially right now. I guess he wants a file with the FBI.

I agree. In light of the Anthrax going around in the mail-I think darth should rightfully turn over that email to the powers that be and let THEM deal with him..if anything the guy would crap his pants and not be such a f*ckwit anymore. I MEAN DUH-can you believe the guy even wrote that? What a douchebag.

We have the guys ISP and all the info..Just awaiting police to arrive at my house . This issue here guys is not my statement about MY experiences with BB employees. Heck if he threatened my life and that was it I would have let it slide. But this piece of dirt is taking it upon himself to exploit the nation's fear. These types of people are not helping our nation in this time of WAR. We hear at Got|Apex? WILL make an example of him.
Proud to be an AMERICAN,

first of all, could somebody link darth's comment on BB. cause i'm currently and employee (not a happy one at that). i mean, i know a bunch of computer stuff, and i will admit, i get stumped sometimes. but that stems from best buys retarded training methods. they care more about selling their "priority" items, then product knowledge. a good site that details BB's problems is here .

but, if darth is saying that a lot of BB's employee's are imcompetent...well, he's right...and i work there. and about emailing threats, the guy's a moran...way to go darth at calling the cops!!!!!

like i said, there's hardly any training...or product training i should say. we get occasional sales training meetings which are pretty much just ass-reaming sessions. i remember when the 1 ghz t-bird laptops arrived, i was like whoa...so, err, when are we goin to learn about these?..."you're not, just sell em"

haha, but darth is right, bb employees are so incompetent at product knowledge. i tell all my family friends not to buy from retail. eitehr have me build it (hehe) or buy it from dell or soemthing.

Yeah my short stay there really sucked. No one I worked with had any product knowledge or was tech savy. The only cool part of the job was helping folks solve a problem and then telling them were they could get the stuff for cheaper. I got reamed once by a manager for explaing how to hook up a usb zip drive instead of pushing the $50 fee for install!!!

here's my favorite best buy story... i go in to buy a simple logitech trackball... i ask the guy if it tends to get dirty and need cleaning with an alcohol-dipped q-tip as often as a regular mouse does... he freaks and tells me no way do i ever want to clean a mouse or trackball with alcohol. i think about this carefully, being pretty sure that i have been told to do EXACTLY that in the past. finally, i ask him why not. his words, verbatim: "It corrodes the metal."

[insert smiley slapping hisself on the forehead here, since we all remember our high school chemistry class, don't we?]

he was so adamant that i checked the box when i got home with my new trackball... and found that it instructed me to clean it with alcohol.

One problem about their computer department is that "computer knowledge" is not a requirement. During the holidays they would throw anyone in there just to pick up the slack. I finally blew a fuse when a manager handed someone some memeory without even asking a freakin question. So being the smartass that I am I told the customer it wouldnt work right in front of the manager and knowing that i was right he didnt say a word. that was the beginning of the end for me.

Unhappy Let me explain...

Yes, I am Stephen. And yes you all, including Darth, have a very good reason to think very low of me. I am not disagreeing with you on that at all. Im not even defending myself. I just think everyone that has read what I sent to Darth deserves an apology. To all of you, I ask your forgivness. I am just a hot tempered 20 year old Best Buy sales accociate that proved just what Darth was talking about in his article. I wasnt mad at him or his article as much as I was venting all of my frustrations into that one horrible e-mail. I know now that anthrax is a very serious, as I have been just watching the news. When I wrote the e-mail yesterday though, all I knew about the situation was that anthrax had a cure and that they were mostly hoaxes. The only story I heard about it was there was a case where an unfortunate lady at NBC had gotten it, but was alright because she wan on antibiotics. I didnt know that it was as serious as it is. And I appologize to the Police who are probly wasting their valuble time right now looking into this situation. I know this is my problem to deal with, and whatever happens to me, I know I deserve it. Just please realize I didnt know that a stupid e-mail would cause this much of a panic. My clouded judgement told me that my e-mail wouldnt have been taken seriously. How can I really hurt sombody when all I know is their e-mail? I cant very easily send germs through the internet. Thats why I used that particular threat. Im not trying to defend myself here, just explaining. You all deserve that. I promise I will never send another e-mail like that as long as I live.
