Thats cool Dogopoly... Actually I won the trip to New York a few months back for the Baseball giveaway. Unfortunaltely I had to call the station to have them give it to someone else. My other half had just been laid off and due to other life events we couldn't go... I was so PO'd I can't even tell you. Found out later that day that if I had kept the prize, that someone would have paid me a couple of grand to put their name on just one of the tickets to New York.... OUCH!!!!

Congrats to those winners.

FYI...years ago I won a trip to Australia (not through any of these programs) and was let go from my job the next week (not related to the prize.) I had also just bought a house and my car broke down--a very bizarre time.
Anyway, I decided to go on the trip anyway 6 months later, in spite of still not having a job. I was really glad I went since I've never been close to that since, 16 years ago.

So I suggest that if you win a trip that you really want to go on--just go and try to deal with its other issues later since you may otherwise never make that trip...and all the memories it offers.

I won the trip to New York in March that was sponsered by Canterbery's Law, and I went on Memorial weekend. (NOTE!!! do not ever go to New York on Memorial weekend. It was Fleet week, a holiday, the Brooklyn Bridge 125th Birthday, etc. It was wall to wall people, it took 2 1/2 hours in line to get to the top of the Empire State Bldg) But over all I had a great time.
