Thanks for that link to the Union-Trib-informative article. At first I didn't know what to think of this station-but it kind of grows on you. I'm a big channel surfer anyway and I like just about all kinds of music. So maybe this just might work. Although I could do without some of the techno-pop stuff. But then again, others really like that stuff, right? Anyway, I look forward to the points program coming back. In the meantime I'll keep an open mind and see what happens. Enjoy the rest of this beautiful Sunday!

It will be interesting to see how long Laura lasts. She knows nothing other than current music and has even made comment that she didn't like John Mellencamp....even when he was in the Boxx. Lots of Mellencamp is now being played.

Jeff & Jer might like the change in music format since neither one are in the 90's era of music. Tommy is much more versatile in his choice of music. Randy....who knows where he is.

Also...Jeff & Jer may have bashed Jazzercise....but the music in Jazzercise classes is much like the new Jack format....very versatile.

So...we shall see how long it takes Jeff & Jer to jump ship. Their contract is up for renewal this fall.

Wow.. you guys are all hardcore.. I got my own problems in my life.. don't have time to worry about those of radio dj's.

Yeah.. i take time to browse for codes.. not the soap operas.

I come to these contest forums to share codes, not the gossip. I just didn't realized how into the dj's lives some of the people on here are. Was rather surprising to me that's all.

Just been checking in, waiting to see how the new JACK format starts up.
Didn't mean to hurt your feelings, tylercat. Was only making an observation.

First code is SONG OF DAY IS AEROSMITH SWEET EMOTION

Passwords
Announced in the morning and afternoon on 100.7 Jack FM
Only valid the day they are announced and can be entered until midnight (server time*) on that day.
Password will always only be one word.
You only have one chance to enter each password: misspellings, entering the wrong word, guessing incorrectly, etc, even if you heard the word correctly or incorrectly on the radio, are not grounds for credit.
Passwords will not be given out via email or phone - the only way to get it is by listening!
Do not share your password with other Jack's VIPs.
2. Song Of The Day
Announced ONCE by Jeff or Jer on weekdays anytime between 6am and 10am.
Can only be entered until midnight (server time*) on the day it is announced.
When you hear the Song Of The Day, note the time it played and then log on to Jack's VIPs to select your answer (multiple choice)
We will not give out the Song Of The Day via phone or email - the only way to get it is by listening!
3. VIP Codes
Anything that gives points in addition to the Passwords.
Point value varies.
VIP codes that are not announced on-air can be found in many places:

Most 100.7 Jack FM events (check the Events page at sandiegojack.com for details, dates, and times), excluding movie premieres. Each code is good for entry until midnight, server time*, on the day the code is given. Only one code per VIP.
Jack's VIP Of The Day: If you are chosen, your name will be announced during the VIP updates (see "Passwords" above for times). Call in the station to recieve your 10,000 point code!
Ordering Jack FM store merchandise: Sometimes we'll have a code that comes with your order (depending on what the item is)- check the Jack FM store at sandiegojack.com for details (usually 2000 points)

So it appears they're giving out 2 different passwords each day. One at 11:30 and one at 3:30.

I'm confused about noting the time the song of the day plays. Does it mean you cannot select the song of the day until it plays?

at this point sdbombshell..I don't have a clue 'l' did anyone hear them call out a VIP of the day name?

from what I can figure so far:

10am: song of the day
11:30am: password
3:30pm: password

not a clue what "VIP CODES" is

the "rules of play" are still freeloader rules

How do we note the time it is played? I don't get this rule.

My take on this is you'll choose from a list as follows:

10:25am
3:18pm
5:54pm
8:01pm

Yes, I recind my comment about seeing a list of times it played. (I should've looked more closely at the website before my previous post.)

I suppose I'd do the same if I had such an overly inflated salary AND they continued to honor it...at least until I could find another sucker, er um, station to pay me more.
