Holy Smokes! Someone really wants that one hour teeth whitening. The current bid is 271,000 bananas, but there is one on the shopping page for only 33,000 bananas (although it is still unavailable).

They aren't easy to get to, but I click the link on the right after entering the Hot Monkey Song.

I also just noticed the link is there when you first log in. This is their "ebay style" auction. If you've got more than 271,000 bananas, then you could bid on the teeth whitening. There is also a guitar up for auction as well. I think the auctions are ending today and soon.

Cool...thx, P! I was about to guess and that was my choice.

Anyone know if we also get bananas over the weekend?

And I'm trying to compare this program to what we had before.

We used to get two guesses for 500 points each, and could enter them any time up until midnight. This was 5 times a week so we could get up to 5000 points per week with little effort.

Now we get 5 guesses for 250 points each, and can only enter them in a 4-hour window. This is for ???5??? times per week, so we can get up to 6250 per week but with a lot more effort and a lot more chance to miss points.

I guess that if they keep giving us good prizes, it's worth the extra effort. If not, maybe I'll just listen to the music and only enter codes when it's convenient...

The number of points (er, bananas) we can earn each day is meaningless without comparing it to the number of points for a prize. For example, a pair of movie tickets were 10,000 points last week. It would take 8 days to earn enough to win this. Other local programs give away the same tickets for only 2000 points, and it is easy to earn these points in less than half the time with minimal effort. So, Jack is not the best bargain in town.

The good thing about Jack is there seems to be more prizes offered. I also like this new auction. It allows someone to get certain prizes that they really want...as long as someone else with more points doesn't want that prize more.

True...all of the points are relative. However, the only place I've seen 2000 points for movie passes was Fox, and I consider that a GREAT deal. Everything else there has a value of about 1000pts=$1 (well, not hockey tickets.)

On KYXY, movie passes seem to run 25,000 points unless you win them in a auction, which seems to go for 15K+. Since you only get about 1000 points per day, they're expensive there (or you can buy sponsor stuff and get more points)

Here, everything seems to be arbitrary prices so it's hard to tell their value. However, compared to their previous program, I think it's potentially better (since theri prize values SEEM to be the same) but it takes much more effort to get those points.

Maybe we should have a separate thread to compare programs' pros and cons.

BTW...It looks like no more points on the weekend...too bad because those extra points could have made the program much more interesting...

What is Monique's Song of the Day?

Tender Love by Force MD's
Don't Dream It's Over by Crowded House
The Wall by Pink Floyd
West End Girls by Pet Shop Boys

I tried looking up the song and it said that Crowded House played closer to 7:40 but that was the wrong answer.

Confirmed!

I heard it played at about 7:52.
Apparently Monique's song is clearly identified in the morning show, unlike the other songs during the day.
(Sorry I couldn't get online sooner, Monsta!)

That's OK, Dog! I heard that the announcement was coming up but I must have been drying my hair or something and forgot about it.
