Friday Love
It’s Friday. You may say a quiet, “Yay,” now. ‘Cause no one can take that away from you.
I gotta say, ever since I played around with a Dual Core system, my upgrade sense has been tingling something terrible. I NEED a dual core system. I don’t care if it’s AMD or Intel. I mean, performance wise, it’s a minutia, really. But the raw love of seeing a dual core system boot up faster than you can sneeze, or the way it makes everything faster….sigh. It really really needs to start raining money from the sky. So now, half of me wants to buy a system I can’t afford – but want, because I’m kinda tired of building the damn things. The other half wants me to spend just enough money to upgrade the old one, just to have the dual core. Another half thinks I’m stupid and need to mellow out for a bit, but he gets outvoted so much I dunno why he bothers. Oh snap, I’m hearing rumors that AMD is going to totally slash prices come July 23rd, when Conroe launches. Ok, I suppose I need to hold my smoke a bit. I can do it. I think. Meanwhile, this weekend I need to pray for no rain, because daddy gonna be riding a jetski, and ain’t nothing stopping him from doing that. MBReview starts off our Yay, Friday with the Diablotek 6600GT PCI-E Techgage takes on the Matrox TripleHead2Go PCMech helps out with a Laptop Buying Guide Digital Trends takes a first look at the Dell XPS M2010 Desktop Think Computers juices up with the Kingwin Absolute Power ABT-600CW PSU Tech Report finally gets around to Ageia's PhysX physics processing unit Trusted Reviews takes upskirt shots with the Sony HDR-HC3E - HD Camcorder CPU3D keeps those cores cool with the Zalman VF700-CU and VF700-ALCU cooler Hexus plays around long term with the Apple Intel-powered Mac mini Hardware Secrets blah blah blah don't care Inno3D GeForce 7600 GST Madshrimp pits Core Duo against Pentium M. Time to bask in the glory that is Friday. You go have a day, a weekend, and though I’ve said it before – you may put your pants on one leg at a time, but all that means is that at some point in the day, you are half assed. ![]()
