A little funk to start your day.

I have no idea what day it is. This week seems like one really long day flowing into itself. Part of it is a heavy work load, part of it is the constant heat. I mean, it’s been 90 degrees all week. I’m hot.

But the weekend is coming. My weekend sense is tingling.

Possibly that’s just gas. I never should have eaten at Old Country Buffet.

Funny you put that up. Parliment & the Funkadelic played for almost 3 hours at a free concert in the park in Plainfield NJ yesterday. They're from Plainfield, thus the name P-Funk.

And who opened the show for them...The SugarHill Gang.

Hmmmmm....

Well the "P" in P-funk might have a little influence from your city, but overall... I'm still thinking that it could stand for quite a few things in the overall meaning it conveys.

"Funk" in itself refers to a "slow nasty groove" beat that relates directly to sexual intercourse with music. So with the P-Funk, you naturally can get several "P"s out of it (Think.... "Are you down with OPP" for the last "P")

Also, of the times, the "P" also stood for Psychadelic, as most of the bands that played P-Funk were wildin' out on some trippy themes at the time. Gettin' high was part of the ride to the Mothership baby! Tear the roof off the mutha!

Of course finally, with the merging of the bands of Parliament and Funkadelic, the P-Funk was just an abbreviation of their combined superpowers of music.
