It’s not the Eddie Money song I had in my head, but it’s the one I’m using.

What the hell. It’s Friday, and no one can take that away from you.

I don’t have major plans, though there I things I should do. I should look into the falling plaster in the dining room from the roof leak there I’ve fixed like 20 times, but I don’t really want to. I don’t want to because once I start, I can’t stop, and I suck at it. I suck at plaster, and I really really suck at putting the bumps back on ceilings. I really do. Everyone says, oh, it’s so easy, but when I do it I get like, 1 bump on the ceiling and a dining room full of spray. I get roller that keeps all the bumps to itself. Frankly, I wish the whole bumps on the ceiling thing had never been invented.

Meanwhile, Greta wants the house painted. And it does need it, but I ain’t doing it. Because not only do I suck at painting and striping and all of that, but I also hate it with a mighty passion. So I told her to get an estimate and see what it would cost to have someone else do it, but she hates doing that about as much as I hate painting. I’d just get it sided and be done with it, but I don’t have anywhere close to that kind of money, which is also why my driveway is just a series of cement patches I redo every two years.

Ah, the joys of an old house and a total lack of skill.
