Anniversary, version 14.0
Happy 14th Anniversary, baby. This week hasn’t gone at all my way, but what say we go out to eat this weekend, sans kids? I think I’ll have a buck or two left over after fixing the stupid computer. Because that’s what I came home to last night, a fried mainboard. Luckily, I have a really understanding wife who knows when something like that happens, it’s time to get out of the way as I go on a tear of diagnostics, shopping, repair and restore. Too bad I found out my memory died along with the board too late to do anything about it. But there is nothing like being married to someone who knows you well enough to back off and let you do what you gotta do. Marriage isn’t about extremes, it’s about balance. Knowing what part of the scale you need to be on at any one time is priceless. That may be a rather guy way of looking at it, but it’s also true. Sometimes you got to be the serious one, the silly one, the angry one, the light hearted one, whatever is needed. Sometimes that falls to you, sometimes to her, and sometimes you both gotta rejigger things, but the balance is what makes it all work out, and all worth it. 14 years married, together as a couple for…22? Sounds about right. All of it grand. Love you, kiddo. Happy Anniversary to you as well. And yes, I will stay out of your way when your computer dies over and over again. It's self-preservation.
Love you! ![]()
