When Past Performance is an Indicator of Future Performance

I've mentioned before how this guy I work with is kind of a idiot. Well, his latest example is really a running theme with him. He has high blood pressure. He has pills he takes for that. When he doesn't take his pills, his legs swell up and he ends up in the hospital. So he takes his pills, he runs out of pills, he doesn't get new ones till a couple of weeks go by, he swells up, he's in the hospital.

Which is what just happened again.

Me, I don't understand it. I'd take my pills. I wouldn't run out. But some people have a complete inability to A) Learn from repeated mistakes and B) predict future events based on past information. It's like the gene that tells us, based on experience, when something is a good idea or a bad idea just doesn't work at all, so that everything seems like a good idea at the time.

So lesson is - take your damn pills!
