Rattle My Bones
We had our 30+ year old apple tree cut down yesterday. The tree had a good run - a really good run, considering - but rot was getting into the trunk and it was best to take her down before it came down on it's own. Stella was very unhappy about it, crying and hugging the tree to say goodbye. The crabapple tree, however, was very pleased. Naturally, as always happens after I have a tree taken care of, we noticed the city has marked another giant tree of ours for death. Not sure if it's an Elm or an Ash tree, and I'm not seeing any sickness in it so I don't know why it's been marked, all I know is that sort of thing usually cost me money. So just remember, if you think it's all that wonderful to have a yard full of old trees, know that it's actually kind of a pain in the ass.
