XGL is the shiznit.

http://www.novell.com/linux/xglrelease/

Running it in SuSE 10.1 right now. OMFG it is so much more attractive than Mac OS X. It's really rockin' my socks;. I'll post some screen shots later.

It has a cube transition effect but it's for switching between users. I think the F10 organize key is about as good of a feature for expanding your desktop. Less mouse motion involved.

Yeah the desktop organization on linux is about the same as the OSX one, but I really dig the virtual desktops, makes organizing work a lot easier.

Airencracken, what are the specs on the computer (processor, memory, video card) that is running SuSE 10.1? I have an AMD XP 2800 with 1GB of memory. The video card in it now (Radeon 8500) can't run XGL I have a P4 2.8GHZ also with 1GB of memory and a Radeon 9800 Pro. I may try and see if this will run it better.

I tried running it on my laptop (PM 1.73ghz, 1GB, mobility radeon x300) and it really crawls unless my resolution is at VGA.

Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 1808MHz
Display Card NVIDIA GeForce 6150
Memory 2048MB

Free Disk Space 68.76GB
Display Card Memory 256MB

XGL <3's Nvidia and AMD. Well, so does all of open source actually. Not to mention that the verison of SuSE that I'm running is natively 64-bit.

Ok...(I feel stupid for asking this)
What's the cube good for?
Is it supposed to be like a "more flashy" version of Exposé?

Kinda. It's just extra screen/desktop space.
