So I've got outlook on my win2k machine, and I figure since I use it and not outlook express, it would be good if when i click on a link in ie, it comes up in outlook. Being the fool that I am and figuring that microsoft did something right, I go into tools, programs and select outlook as the email program (and also the calendar and contact list program too). Now one would think that this would mean that outlook loads when you click on a mailto link. But it doesn't happen at all. I searched through the useless outlook help, and I didn't find a way to change it there. In outlook express, it is NOT the default email handler. Any ideas on how to make outlook work with links? Thanks

- Go to Start, Run
- Type in the following with quotation marks and press ok "C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe." /checkclient If necessary, change the path to the outlook.exe file to match that on your computer. -The message "Outlook is not currently your default manager for Mail and News. Would you like to register Outlook as the default manager?" will appear, answer yes. |
