Hi Hi 3dmark06 on 2 different rigs WOW

Ok both are dogs compare to a lot of others members.

My rigs I did the test runs on are:
My old AMD 2400 with a 1 gig of ram and a G-force FX5500 256 mg ram
Second rig: my AMD 3400 with 512 mb ram and a G-force fx6600 256 ram
Both were running Windows XP Pro.

The AMD 2400 did run the demo of 3dmark06 in what I call single frame speed. It was like watching every 4th frame of a movie. I was really suprized it even ran the demo.

The AMD 64 3400 did a major improvement like I figured it would. Loaded the program in 1/3 the time and there were lots of frames that the AMD 2400 system didn't produce. In the next coming days I have to try this all over with more ram in the AMD 64 system and see if there is improvements.

Can you see what the comparison is between a DX2-66 and a straight DX75 and get back to us?

Not everyone could afford new computer. I have my two main computers and the laptop for almost 2 years. I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. However I just got another 512MB stick for my Athlon 64 system.

I am still using my Athlon XP 2400+. It has been updated to 1gb memeory and a better video card (ATI X800XL) and still handles things fine. The only problem I have had is with a video game I would like to play (Splinter Cell Double Agent) because it requires Shader Model 3.0 which the X800 series cannot do. No real reaon to update it yet. Finances and the coming of DirectX 10 and SM4.0 make it more reaonable to continue to wait. Not worth spending the money to improve what it can do.

My old rig is an anthlon 2500+ combo (@3200+) that I got from frys several years ago for $79. It is fine for everything except gaming at high rez and loads a little slower than my gaming rig... an outdated opty @2.8ghz. The opty gaming rig runs everything nicely and with the price drops, AMD is still a great option.

I think if I were to upgrade right now, I would probably spring for a Core Duo around 6600 Level I believe it was.

I just ordered an AGP video card to keep my computer going for a bit longer. Rather Cheap BFG 7800GS AGP 256mb Ram 256-bit Card for $230 with a $30 MIR over at Newegg.
