hey guys. it's a weird problem, and i've tried searchiing google for a fix, but have come up empty. here's the lowdown:

i've just reinstalled windows xp. everything looks good, except for thumbnails. when i go inside the "my pictures" folder, the pictures do not display the thumbnails; in fact, the files don't even display their icons.

BUT, if i go to view > icons, the icon shows back up. once i've done this, and go back to view > thumbnails, the files show a thumbnail of their icons, but it doesn't have a border around it like it used to. also, this only happens once i'm in the folder; when i exit and come back in again, the problem before happens again.

so...i am stumped by this. any ideas on how to fix it or, at the very least, how it could've been caused? also, if anyone can tell me how to attach pictures, i can and will because you have to see it to see what i mean by this problem. thanks in advance.
