I get McAfee Antivirus free through work and I use an old copy of Sygate Personal Firewall that works well for me. There might be better options (ZoneAlarm? BlackIce?) but I never really bothered looking into those because well... if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

For Spyware I use a combo of AdAware and Spybot S&D.

Are you looking for an all-in-one type thing, i.e. one of the McAfee suites? Or can you use multiple apps?

Virus - AVG
Firewall - ZoneAlarm
Spyware - Ad Aware

For anti-virus, I use AVG Free Edition. It's great cause it doesn't cost anything and legal. Haven't had any problems so far.

Frys has PC.-cillin for free after rebates. http://shop2.outpost.com/product/4969521
They also have a Norton bundle that includes Internet Security (anti virus and firewall), Ghost 10.0, and Partitian Magic for free after rebates http://shop2.outpost.com/product/5018815 . I still use Norton for basic protection and Ghost. For spyware I have Adaware and Spyware Doctor (not a free program).
There is also Windows Defender which is free for download.

Why do you want to get rid of PcCillin? I have had it for several years and it is the best.

BTW, PcCillin's rebate does not work with renewals.

My history in the past back in the day of Windows 98 with PC-cillin was good at first, but then it seem to crash and blot my machines. I've not used it in years, but after what it was like in the days of 98, I wouldn't use it again!

Today all I use is AVG which is free and no problems.

I second the recommendation for Avast -- uses very few resources (compared to bloatware like Norton). Heck, I just finished getting rid of Norton Antivirus/Internet security on a new machine on our network, and it boots up and shuts down nearly twice as fast.
