Upgrade Mac OS

Should I? I have 10.3 (the one before Tiger) and my computer is a 1.67ghz 15" Powerbook with 2 gigs of ram. Which OS should I upgrade to? Should I wait until the new one comes out or is my computer not going to handle it?

It'll handle it just fine. You might need to reformat the hard drive though. 10.5 uses a different file format.

No it doesn't. If you're referring to ZFS, it's in there but it's not being used. You don't need to reformat.

So when is Leopard actually planning to be released? With all the delays and false delays recently, I am/am not sure (kinda).

If you are satisfied with X.3 then there's no need to upgrade. However if you can get a free copy from someone I would recommend it, that way it'll be an easier transition. I like X.4 alot and think it's got plenty of years left before it feels outdated, however I'll certainly take the X.5 upgrade when it comes. Some of the new features look amazing!

Maybe he's referring to Mac OS Extended Jounaled? If he's not currently using it, might he have to convert to utilitize X.5?

After seeing the keynote, I'm thinking about getting a new macbook pro rather than upgrading my current Macbook Core Duo to Leopard. I need a larger hard drive, but that graphics card looks kick ass and I think some of the features are going to need a decent card to run smoothly.

No, I was indeed talking about ZFS. I just wasn't sure about the details. ZFS is very exciting. I thought it was the reason for the delay.
