My company is running an AD that's in Win2k compatibility mode because some of our DC's are still 2k server. Because of this, commands like "dsquery" are not usable from the command line.
What I'm trying to do is export three values from all users in AD. NT ID, Last Name & First Name, and their last logon date. Any idea how to do this? |

Are you sure that's the reason why you don't have dsquery available to you? I have a "MS scripting" book from MS press, meant specifically for Win2K and it clearly suggests these commands for AD scripting.
Is it possible something else is blocking your DS commands?

That's the thing, I honestly don't know. I'm still learning AD and it's not an easy task...and my companies AD responsibility was sort of dropped in my lap before I was even remotely ready and they aren't providing any training. It's kind of screwed up.

When you try to run dsquery, does it give you any type of error message?

www.corsec.org/scripts/LastLogon-User.vbs
That's a pretty good script that I found and massively edited. It exports NT ID, Last name / First name, Disabled / Active account and Last Logon Date. Enjoy. |
