Anti-Virus software recommendations
Ok, so, I've had some issues with AVG 8 and if I can find a free antivirus program to try other than that, I'd like to. Any ideas?

What issues did you have with AVG?
I've found that AVG 7.5 works well if you add Threatfire to it. I haven't used version 8.0 though.

Threatfire makes any AV program better.
But ok... that convinces me that I won't be upgrading anything to AVG 8.0 anytime soon. |

AVG + Vista + Dell Media Card Reader =
 That's the only problem I have with AVG. Everything else I can pretty much trace back to Vista.

Yeah, what they said about AVG 8. Earlier versions worked fine for me. But 8 sucks ass.

I've run AVG 8 since it was in beta with no issues.
It is strongly recommended that, when installing AVG 8.0 Free, a custom (rather than default) install is selected. I suggest NOT installing the “Web Shield” nor the “AVG Security Toolbar”. Users have reported better performance without having these options installed. Still more details here... And still more, including a CLI install routine that is quick and leaves the toolbar and Link Scanner off...
