Is there a third party software to limit internet access?

Is there a third party software that will limit one users internet access?

Audie and I share a desktop. She uses it most of the time mainly because I am on the laptop. But anyway, I want to be able limit her to being on the internet for an hour at a time with breaks of an hr or two inbetween. But I don't want it to affect me if I sit down at the desktop to look up something.

Any ideas?

I set that one up with a friend of mine and it controls when and where their child can go on the internet.

As far as you using the same desktop, you put in your parental password and it unlocks all the access to the computer... yet when the child uses the PC it enforces whatever protections you have enabled.

It doesn't have a "time based" lockout... however you can set it so that the PC can't be used without a password during certain periods during the day (Say you don't want the kid using the PC from 2:30 p.m to 4:00 p.m. you can lock out that timeframe). This feature is good for preventing access to the PC for times that you know you won't be home to supervise them.

It's not a supervision issue. She goes to just a few sites and they are okay. It's just the amount of time she spends there. and none of them are myspace

Honestly, I don't know what to tell you then...

That software I showed you has the ability to lock out times (even if you don't use the web site filtering), however I've never seen a program that puts a clock on how long you can use the internet afterwhich it auto shuts it down.

i'd use the built-in monitor that's in your router, if you're using one. you can break it down by time and such and make internet schedules. it's just an on/off type thing.

If you have Vista, you have access to Parental Controls which allows you to control several things, including online access time:
