Hiding/Changing my IP
So I'm trying to watch Korean Olympic matches off of a korean TV network site and due to copyright issues they're blocking people outside Korea from from accessing their streaming video broadcast. I'm assuming they're judging my location based off of my IP address. Is there a hassle-free way to get around this?

A proxy is the easiest way. I used to have some good sources but not anymore.

I have the exact opposite problem - I need a non-Korean IP address to watch American broadcasts. Actually, more accurately, I need an American IP address.

Are they IP proxies or web proxies? If they are web proxies you can go to the site and type in the address of interest. If it's an IP proxy and you're on windows you need to go into your browser settings and look for a place to put it in. On a mac I think you setup your proxy in network preferences.
Once you have that setup, make sure your proxy is physically in Korea. From the proxy, visit http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and see where it places you. Interestingly, I wonder if you guys could both set up a proxy server for each other. Common proxy programs: CGIProxy, PHProxy, Poxy |

It works! That was pretty easy. I went into the internet settings and set it up to connect through a anonymous Korean proxy IP address I found online and now I can watch the olympics! Learned something cool today. Thanks guys!
Shawnlee, I found tons of free anonymous proxies online. Try googling "proxies US." |

Just make sure to call me on a landline so I'm able to get hard-wired to the mainframe, which is imperative when exaculating the dual counter-interpolation IP port history of the supra-gmail up-P2P. And Digg. ![]() |
