Me too. I actually miss my Google toolbar. I didn't use it much, but it's on not seeing it there. But so far, I do like it MUCH more that Firefox which I have tried on three different computers and it never worked right. |

it's....interesting. Odd. A different experience. I dunno that I like it, but I see they are least trying something new. You can tell it's beta though, it seems very feature light.

The lack of menus is a little odd to say the least. Well actually there are a couple of menus, but they seem like they are in the wrong place!

I think they decided to release it earlier than planned because of the info leak. From what I gathered, Chrome's best feature is the decoupled architecture where each page (or tab) is independent from one another. If a page you are viewing were to crash, you don't take down the entire browser. Firefox's ability to restore viewed tabs when its process has to be terminated is a great feature but this takes it one step further. V8 is also equally impressive, it will be interesting to see how the web will transform over the next few years as browsers no longer become a barrier to web application performance. I'm an avid flash/flex developer and I can see that this will provide an alternative platform for Rich Internet Applications when paired with the Google Web Toolkit and Gears. After watching the webcast video, you can easily tell that Google is stressing the fact that they are not out to establish themselves as a replacement browser in the current browser market but rather to contribute. They also continually mention that everything is open source and anyone is free to use/modify/improve it. Wouldn't it be interesting to see IE use the V8 engine? ![]() |

They are both based on WebKit, a fork of KHTML. Hmm, I wonder what it would say if I were running Konquerer.

Just figured out how to go with the dev build and add AdBlock + and no underlined links (Chrome had no way to turn link underlining off unlike other browsers)... Woo+!
