Question Time to go from a 32bit to 64bit OS?

I dislike Vista so much that I'm going to get Windows 7. Is it time to get the 32bit or 64bit version? Or does the world need to be shaken up to make that leap like it did from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95?

I'd say go 64. Driver support seems better overall, which is really the only reason I can think of that you wouldn't want to go 64. I don't think I've seen any programs so far that haven't been able to run under Windows 7 64.

64 bit all the way unless you feel like being limited to three gigabytes of ram. No reason not to really, unless you're running some old incompatible application.

A lot of the CG applications I use recently released 64 bit versions, so I felt like it was time to finally upgrade to a 64 bit system myself. Not to mention having full usage of my RAM is crucial. I'm gonna try out Win XP x64 until maybe Win 7 comes out with its first service pack.

Reno, have you made the jump yet?

I just installed XP x64. So far everything is running smooth and fast with that sweet new-OS smell. so far the challenge has been
to find all the working hardware drivers for my Macboook Pro boot camp setup (bootcamp never officially supported XP x64), but there are a bunch of tutorials by people who've done it before. It's kinda fun installing my usual everyday programs and realizing they actually have a x64 version. I can't wait to try out all my CG apps as they will utilize more than 3GB or RAM now.
