Question

My sister is running win2k on a IBM Thinkpad and is having trouble playing a DVD. She has used the DVD player many times, however she was messing with some settings earlier in the week so she thinks she may have tweaked it. I have never used win2k so I don't know what her problem could be. I told her to make sure she was running 24bit true color and at a high resolution. She was.
The error that she is getting is something like "unable to open a video window" or something to that effect. I'm sorry I can't give you a better error message, but she is going to email the exact error soon so I'll update this thread when she does.
Has anyone had an error like this? Isn't there a systems restore utility like there is on WinME so that she can restore her system back to the way it was before she started tweaking the settings? Thanks for your help!

it might just be that the program she's trying to use doesn't support the video modes. Tell her to play around with the color depth/resolution. I had a similar problem on my laptop.
