i'm trying to network my pc (running win98) and my cousins ibook (running os9.1 and os10) so that we could play a friendly game of starcraft using my 100base-t hub. having a bit of difficulty. going from pc to pc is cake, but i'm having trouble with this dumb mac i told him not to buy. if anyone can help, please do. thanks.

Silly Macs!

Just give them both an IP address in the same subnet - i.e.:

10.0.0.1 - PC
10.0.0.2 - Mac
Both: subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
Don't need a default gateway

Plug both into the hub & see if you can ping each other. If so, fire up starcraft & away you go!

When you goto the TCP/IP settings, make sure it says Via: Ethernet NOT via EtherTalk or AppleTalk or whatever the MAC protocol is.
