When ever I run any video like a asf file on Microfot Media player, my computer just feeezes up. I have the most recent version too. This also happens when I try to use my TV program to watch TV on my computer with my TV tuner card. This problem started when I went from Windows 98 to Windows ME and then uninstalled ME.
Any suggustions beside fromating my harddrive would be greatly appreciated. -Michael

Just my two cents..... If your at the the point of doing a reinstall you might as well just reformat and do a FRESH installation of any operating system you see fit.
Reinstalling Windows over a previous installation in a situation like yours is a lesson in futility. Just speaking from past experience. I always choose to do a fresh install instead of an upgrade over any current operating system. Less problems and if you read most tech articles it seems to be the best route. |

I don't think that just reinstalling win98se over what you already have will do the trick. When you do one of those write-over installs, Windows setup knows, and leaves programs and drivers in place and just rewrites the main system files. Your best bet is the full format reinstall.
