Hi,
I have the latest Fujitsu B notebook, which came with windows 2000. My boss wants it in defferent language, so I have to format the whole thing. Now I can not install PCMCIA external cd-rom to DOS, in order to set up windows98 from the CD-rom. The win98 boot disk doesn't recognize the cd-rom. the driver came with the Ext cd-rom doesn't work with DOS.

any way to get arround this???

Thanks!!!!

You CAN install Win98 with floppies...

Just copy all the files from the win98 floppies (buy them or make them) to a directory on your HD and install from that directory. If you don't have a cab-copier to put the 1.6M or 2M files on a floppy, use pkzip to span disks and expand them to that directory.

Hope this helps. Sounds like your options in DOS are limitted.

I would use a partitioning utility (such as Partition Magic) to create a drive to store the Windows CD files, and any other files you want to keep. Then I would reformat the primary partition and install from the second partition.
