I was wondering....how can I record streaming media from:

RAM files (realmedia)
ASF files (windows streaming media)

Anyone know how to do this...there must be a way.

There are some programs available that will record streaming video, such as a Netmeeting broadcast. The method of recording is to create a box on the screen around the window you want to record.

Something else that might work is right-clicking on the link to the video and selecting Save Target As...

Streaming video, I have no idea

Streaming audio, use Total Recorder. Check http://www.download.com

hmm..close

Total recorder's shareware is limitted to 40 seconds per session. and if the stream gets lost...the recording will stink. There is some readaudio I'd like to cap, but there has got to be a better way...like a hacked FTP program...

...then....

...you may have to copy the movs from your "temporary internet files" directory after you play them.
I have tons of movs from AC-this is how I got them.

BTW: AC is tending toward more streaming media, so you might want to install Quicktime4 and keep telling them that you don't want to upgrade.

Oh...

...for those that care...I got a crack for totalrecorder and it seems to work great. I turn it on, listen to the realmedia, and it records the incoming media into one big waveform. Very nifty. I'm downloading Sci-fi's Seeing Ear Theatre audio stories-very slick and perfect for my upcoming six-hour drives to the CA bay area.

for .ram files, they usu. get saved in ur temp internet folder. after streaming it, it should be sitting in the folder. just copy it somewhere else. done deal.
