mp3 help
alright....somehow a heck of a lot of my mp3s got turned into system files. I went to turn them back and they all have the system checkbox grayed out. Is there any way to force them to not be system files anymore or will I have to do it with attrib in DOS?

Umm grainger, you didn't get a virus did you? My friend up there got hit by one a couple of weeks back cuz he was browsing the networks and he had all his mp3's and jpg's turned into other files. So what happens when you click on them? Do they end in .vbs?

sho.gun - Yeah....I think I did a bit ago. I just cleaned everything out with Norton 2002. love letter I think it was....grrrr....oh well. I just changed all my mp3s back to regular files.
I lost all the cool pics I had gotten over the years....grrrr! Time to start again....  |

yup, loveletter was the one. The thing is, he doesn't have an AV... so all the virus removal had to be done manually.

this happened to a computer in my house about a week ago. every mp3 was changed to *songtitle*.mp3.vbs that and all picture files *.jpg, .gif, .bmp ) oh yeah there was like almost 8,000 files when i did a search on *.vbs
mmm virsu checker was having little mini-orgasms the whole time i swear. I think it was talking to me or something... jeez virus' suck |

that's the same thing that happened to me....the mp3s are fine...but I lost all my .jpgs. For some reason my .gifs and .bmps are fine...ah well....sucks none the less.
