I bought a wireless networking system at OfficeMax a couple of months ago that turned out to be plagued with problems. If I remember, I wanted to network my HP printer. I installed the software to my main computer for the HP printer. Well, after the networking system didn't work, I uninstalled the HP printer software.
On startup, I get an icon that reads:
Windows Networking

Unable to load the DLL:

One of the library files needed to run this application
cannot be found. Some or all of the functions are not
available:

HP Network Printer

How do I get rid of this icon?

Most likely, the error is referring to a program that's been configured to run during Windows startup but can't find one of the supporting DLL files. The recommended method would be remove any and all related programs for that networking system. Since you've obviously done that, your next step would be to remove any references/shortcuts to programs relating to your networking software.

First, check the Start -> Programs -> StartUp folder and get rid of any software that looks like it might have something to do with that networking software. The next two places to look would be the win.ini (or system.ini) file for the lines starting with "run=" or "load=". Inspect those lines and make sure they don't (again) refer to any networking software. The last place to look, if you dare, is in the registry (backup first). Under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, inspect the various entries and delete any networking software references. Again, only modify the registry if you know what you're doing. Otherwise, skip that last step.

The last place to look (although unlikely) is the network properties. The networking software might have installed a reference to a device that no longer exists.

hmm, check your startup folder and your win.ini configuration for anything that had to do with the HP printer software and take it out. That should solve it.
