Question configuring Control Panels in Windows NT

Greetings Apexers. I am having a little problem setting up a printer on an NT machine. When I am in Admin mode, the printer works fine because I have the Control Panel->Services->Spooler to start automatically. However in the general users mode the Spooler isn't set to start automatically, and since general users cannot make changes to the settings, I cannot change it to do so from there. My question is, how do I change the control panel settings of the general users? Do I have to do it while logged in as Admin? Thank you in advance.

Services in NT are set by the system, not the user. The services should start before anyone even logs in, unless you have it set to manual startup.

Just log in as admin, set the spooler to start automatically, and assign it to log in as a system account, not a user account. Then the service should start up when the computer boots & run no matter who logs in.

Jeffbx...my savior!

Thanks Jeff that's valuable info. The problem that I have is that although the spooler is set to start automatically, when I log on as a normal user, the spooler isn't started. The setting says that it is set to start automatically, but it doesn't. You've been more than helpful so unless you know off the top of your head, I'll research it some more. Thanks for your advice

Check the event viewer after you log in as a normal user. Perhaps something else is either killing the service or preventing it from starting.
