Ok.. Here's what I've got.. I installed Windows 98 on one partition and then Red Hat Linux on another partition. Red Hat installed GRUB to pick which operating system I want to load at startup. I picked it to default to Linux.
Once Linux has loaded, is there a way to make it boot into Windows the next time (and the next time only)? The reason is that I want to run this box without a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. I'll be accessing it using VNC (in both Linux and Windows modes). I just need to find a way to control which OS it boots into. Thanks! |

i dunno if that's really possible.
I had that problem with winxp/2k, but I figured out that there was a setting where you can choose what OS would be default when starting up. Linux may have that option somewhere - though I'm somewhat of a neophyte in Linux config, so I dunno.. perhaps there's a file somewhere that u can alter before rebooting???not sure but if u wanna go from win9x - linux, may not work.. I think best solution is to have a windows emulator in linux. |
