Ad program or pop ups?
I got an email from a friend about a problem he is having with his computer when he gets on the internet. Here is what he says:
Quote:
I was going to recommend Pop Up Killer but then I thought maybe it might be an ad program that installed itself on his computer from some website. If it is the latter is there a program that can get rid of the ad program like pop up killer does to pop up windows? He is running WinME. Thanks.

Try searching for the file mmbb.exe I think... i cant remember the exact name of the program (xxbb.exe I think, where xx is some letters), but its a commonly used ad popup program silently installed into your system with common shareware/freeware programs...

there is a program called Spyblocker that will prevent spyware from sending out any information, without disabling the program that uses it. works pretty well too.
