?: WinXP 640x480?

The lowest resloution ya can have in winXP seems to be 800x600. Is there a way to make that 640x480? I am trying to watch divx on my TV and it looks the best in a lower resolution since TV's arent as crisp as monitors.

Unfortunately not. MicroShaft has removed "640x480" resolution from WindowsXP.

Lowest possible resolution is "800x600". So far they havn't fixed it yet and have not mentioned any plans to fix it.

The software company I work for also requires that Windows have a 640x480 resolution because our clients are to stupid to care about detail.

So with 640x480, the software fills the screen. In 800x600 the software doesn't. So they just have to live with it and we can make sure that they know its "MicroSoft"'s fault.

C'mon guys - have a peek at the MS KnowledgeBase:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q286906

RESOLUTION
NOTE : This workaround is not supported by Microsoft.

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.

Click the Advanced button.

Click the Adapter tab, and then click the List all modes button.

Select the resolution, color depth, and refresh rate that you want and click OK.
