Win 95 Osr2
This ancient 486 based computer that I use to surf the Web recently got a very bad virus. I have been very fortunate for the past several years without running a Virus program on Windows 95, original version.
I am having some difficulty while opening some programs and I am positive it has to do with the virus I have. My sister and a couple of her friends have similar problems also, so I know it's a virus. Anyway,I went looking for a Virus program. Norton 2002 has as a minimum requirement Windows 98, while McAfee has Windows 95 OSR2 as a minimum. I have a Windows 95 OSR2 CDROM and a startup diskette, Retail version. Can I run the CDROM and add it to my original Windows 95? I know that one is FAT16 based while the other is FAT32.Or do I have to start from scratch? |

It's actually an upgrade to a 133 (Evergreen chip)... Whoopee!!
And the reason I use this old Campaq unit with an integral 14" monitor is that I position it at the end of my dresser sideways, and with a wireless mouse, I can lie down on the bed next to it and surf the Web. I use to spend a lot of time in the dining room on the computer, but my cat screamed bloody murder because I wasn't paying enough attention to him. Now he's perfectly satisfied! After all, he is the king of the house. Now would someone please answer my question? |
