the freaking clock on my comp...
why is it that the clock on my pc cannot keep time correctly? it's super slow. is there a reason for this? and if so, how do i correct it?
i'm tired of updating the damn thing. as i sit here, it's 12:25am on Friday, and my clock says it's 7:37am on Thursday... argh!

mine does the same thing...
...just started when I brought it to this physics symposium. I think it's one of three things:
1the lithium battery is dying 2the power input from the wall is shading 3the computer tries to update from the network, and the network's time is bad

This is not true in most cases because the only moment that the OS refers to time from motherboard is on system boot. Once system time is established, the OS manages the time. A few things may be the culprit: your CPU is constantly under a heavy load due to a system process(es). Are you running anti-virus software that constantly monitors everything? Are you running some type of distributed-computing data cruncher? Try disabling any unnecessary programs running in the background. Windows 9x varieties are especially bad at keeping system time. I've never really experienced problems with Windows 2000, XP, or Linux. Another option would be to download a small utility that syncs your PC with an atomic clock.

if you have XP...it also syncs time if you double click the clock and goto internet time.
