No problem here either with DirectX 8.1 and AXP 1700+.

CS closes down on me for no apparent reason, Jedi Knight 2 crashes after like 4 minutes, some DDR game I have crashes also... this is right after a fresh format and reintall of XP. bah... I just reinstalled vid and sound drivers though, we'll see if that's the culprit.

only, Jedi is Open GL. So you might have different kind of problem.

Only got that error message once or twice when trying to play WarCraft III. Something about DirectX8.1 not installed or something. I know I have it so I just rebooted and the message doesn't appear.
