Hotmail and MSN Messenger on Windows XP
I have Windows XP.
How do I stop the computing from trying to load MSN Messenger everytime I go to Hotmail? thanks, don |

I had the same frustration. While you can set OE to not log into MSN Messenger, it will always load. I found a registry hack that stopped MSN from loading, but it also made OE ssssssslllllllllooooooowwwwwwwwww to load. I said screw it, undid the reg hack, and made a couple batch files that renames msmsgs.exe to msmsgs.old and back - msnoff and msnon. Works like a charm.

choose
start>run>msconfig and that should let you disable MS messanger from loading it is under mutiple tabs |

To totally remove messenger just hit "Run" from the start menu and paste this: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove That will permanently remove it
