on most of the cartoons i download (mainly the old spiderman shows) i get audio and no video but the file size is big enough where it would have video, what is my problem?

Do you get an "error downloading codec" message?

It could be that these clips are recorded with divx. Download the player (which is essentially a plugin for Windows Media Player) here.
