How to download/save MOV files off the net?

Is there anyway to save MOV clips off the web? (ie. movie trailers from the Quicktime site) Thanks.

those are hard to do, but if you can find the temp file that is the movie data you can copy it and rename it to .mov. i think i remember having to make quicktime crash once to make it work because if you just close it out, quicktime will delete the file. sorry i dont have more details, its been a while since ive done this

don't worry about it dude. Thanks!

I remember my friend doing it once. I think he searched the page's "source" and then copied some lines from it into the address line of the browser then was able to save or something... can't quite remember...

That's what I used to do with Adcritic.com. The files are in the "temporaty internet files" of your user info in "documents and settings."

Now, I just used a registered version of Quicktime 5, and it lets me "save as" to a file.

i was going to say that a few hours ago, then my cable modem f-ed up and i couldnt submit the response.

to make a long story short on the cable modem, our service sucks all the time. Charter finally said it WAS the modem, which i had told them for months, and they gave us a new modem. Now we are back online and so far no problems

I think for mine I just right click the movie and select the "save as source" option... it works.

sometimes all those options dont work. i remember for the Ali trailer, i just couldnt figure out how to get it. there was a temp file that was created evertime i played it, but that file wouldnt copy at all and when i closed qt it would delete the file. i couldnt even save it with a registered version of qt pro (dont remember if it was qt 4 or 5. it was right when the trailer was released). so i crashed qt (dont ask how, i dont remember), and the temp file remained.
