Got|Apex? News ticker

I found this cool little program called KlipFolio that runs newsbytes or stock quotes on your desktop and links it to the site which posted it. I think it would be really cool if we could have a plug-in for Got|Apex? Deals and the news page. I think it can be run right off of PHP but I can’t figure out how to make a custom channel on KlipFolio. Has anyone used this program?

I can't provide any helpful knowledge, but it sounds like a great idea.
