DameWare
on the corporate portal at the company i'm working at, peoples pictures are listed beside their phone number. the other day, as a joke, i turned the network admins pic into a monkey.
![]() now, to retalliate, he's trying to mess with my box. he's installed some program called DameWare. Anyone know anything about it? Particularly how to block it from running?Or..how to block a certain process from running. I know the name of the process. thanks

Straight from the horse's mouth: http://www.dameware.com/support/kb/a...sp?ID=DW300101
If that doesn't work: You'll need admin rights on your machine. If you know the name of the process, just go into the Task Manager & kill it. If that doesn't work, there's a utility in the NT Resource Kit called KILL (like the UNIX kill command). You can use that to kill it from the command prompt. Other solutions - If you know the name of the executable but can't stop it from running, boot from a DOS disk (if you have FAT32) or from the W2K CD into the recovery console (if you're running W2K). Then just delete or rename the file & it won't be able to run at startup (be sure to make note of the path before you go to the command prompt!). Once you've removed it successfully, it's time to retaliate back. Perhaps the BSOD Screensaver on his machine? |

yup...got it deleted. now i need to figure how to keep him from putting it back. zone alarm stops him, but also keeps me off about half of the network.
and i need some more ideas for revenge!!! i like the bsod screen saver, but i'll need more after that! this is war! |
