Installing Win2k on Laptop?
I have decided that Windows Me is worthless so I am going to install Windows 2k on an HP Laptop. I have never installed an operating system on a laptop and was curious if there is anything I should watch out for? Any tips would be appreciated.

watch out for proprietary video drivers. I ran into that on my Compaq. The only way to get them was to uninstall the OS i put on, and use their system restore disks'.

If you have compaq, you can try to obtain their SoftPaq drivers.
Keep this in mind tho. Most, if not all companies will probably refuse technical support service if you change your OS. |

I run win2k SP3 on my company Dell P800 laptop. Since I have all the drivers loaded correctly, it runs flawlessly. Also, having a 1.8G P4 processor and 1GB of memory doesn't hurt either.
